This blog documents my treatment as I try to balance life and school while being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The purpose of this blog is to keep my family and friends updated as I undergo treatment for this disease.

When something like this happens, you really tend to question how much you trust God in your own life. As I sat in bed the first night after being diagnosed I said to myself, "Self, you have cancer. YOU have CANCER!! Shouldn't that scare you?" And I searched my heart. I found no fear, I found no worries, and I found no concerns. Cancer is big, but it is no match for God.
I am able to continue in high spirits because deep in my heart I know that God will provide and he will bring me through. He has already blessed me with the greatest care imaginable combined with the family and friends to support me as I continue on this journey.

Love the hat, love the Mr. Clean look, love how your resemblence to your dad grows stronger every day!
I was so glad to get an update from Meg and Jay. I read your entire blog yesterday morning and typed a response and managed to just preview it and not post-it.
Suffice to say, I am blessed to hear how God is bringing you through all of this. My prayers are that your family is strengthened and encouraged every day. When I read the scriptures you quoted, I wanted to let you know that you sound just like the apostle Paul to me. He learned that he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him, but the scripture before that one is also great. That's where he stated that in all things, he learned to be balanced. He learned how to go through the highs and the lows with God.
Things are great here at the Herbold Home for Empty-Nesters. Having three kids in college this year has been a good weird. Hey, my house is neater- (Oh my! That is an end-time sign and wonder!) and we've had fun visiting two of three college campuses this fall. Unfortunately for Jay, her parents' weekend was bumped up this year to September, the same weekend as Nick's. When I found that out, I called her and said, "Jay, I've got two words for you: Football and the Pops!" Yeah, we chose BC football (Go Eagles!) and hearing the Boston Pops over seeing our middle child. When she doesn't get into her grad school of choice, she can blame us:)
Just one more thing before I go. I just want to encourage you to sing praises every now and then- I'm sure you already do- it's another way to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Love to you and your family today and every day.
Love,
Mrs. H
