Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone an early happy New Year!
So what's been going on in my life?
We had a small scare last weekend... I was experiencing this pain in my side. I woke up with it Friday and it still didn't go away by Saturday. So my doctor thought it would be best if I got it checked out. Even if it was just for my own piece of mind.
They started poking me and they first thought it was my Gal bladder, then my liver. At one point the surgeons sounded like they were ready to remove my Gal bladder! We stayed overnight, and when all was said and done, it turns out the pain I was feeling was just a side-effect of the chemo I had earlier in the week. It causes the liver to become inflamed slightly and hence the pain. By the time I woke up Sunday morning, I felt fine.
Another wonderful thing to report is The Mouthsores Are Healed!!!
at least for now! They shouldn't be rearing their ugly head anytime again soon... if at all!
As for my schedule, it's pretty great. The going pace seems to be 1-2 days of chemo followed by roughly 1-2 weeks of rest. So unfortunately I fear that the updates to this blog will start becoming few and far between.
We're out of the woods now! It should be a coast to the finish line!

Happy New Year Nick! Glad to hear the good news. Hope you keep us all updated with more good news in 2007. Ask about taking vitamins they will help you get through your chemo. Do the research and find out for yourself.
Have a happy new year! :o) Hope it's on the up and up from here on out!

Hey Nick-
I am sorry to hear the ordeal you've been going through. Two years out of school and people decide that they don't have to keep you posted anymore. As soon as I heard about what happened, I read through the entire blog to try and catch up.
I am glad to hear that you've been able to remain upbeat throughout the entire process, and am of course encouraged to hear that the statistics are so good for people your age who deal with this problem. And although I don't exactly share the same faith, I'm glad that you can draw insipiration and comfort from your relationship with God - anything to help you get through it.
Thanks to living with Jill, I've always looked at you as a brother. An annoying brother, haha, just kidding. But I want you to know that I am very concerned for you, and will be thinking about you and praying for a speedy recovery from here on out. Cancer is an issue VERY close to my heart, as it is to many.
I have nothing but the utmost faith that you're going to pull through. As long as I've known you, you've been one of the most industrious, hardworking kids I've ever met. Its not even fair to call you a kid anymore.
In any event, I'm proud of you, I really am, and I wish you the best - I know you've got big plans. You are way too stubborn to be bothered too much by a problem like this, right? Don't forget how determined and driven you are. Its important to have Faith, in addition to the knowledge of what you, as a strong individual, are capable of.
A couple final words of advice. Don't ever go to law school. You are still never allowed in my bathroom. I love you... and finally, good luck. Give me a call some time. God bless.
Nick,
I am happy that things are going well for you - although not so well for your Uncle Rick who likes the Giants - let's just hope he didn't see last nights game. I can't claim to be a sports fan - although when you live with Brian Mangan you get dragged into a few games here or there.
I love and miss you and am praying and rooting for you!
Love
Julia
Nick so good to hear things are going well!! I assume you are resting now and making a run for the finish line - very good to hear!
Keep well, happy new year, we're thinking of you up here in the frozen land!
